"A female is not defined by her body nor her face, she is not defined by her role in society, her political views, how much money she makes or how she makes it. a female is not defined by how many people she has slept with, or the circumstances of how she has been with them. she is not defined by the gender[s] that she is attracted to or the labels she uses to describe herself. a female is not defined by her last name or any name at all nor is she defined by her religion or upbringing or lack thereof. a female is not defined by what she has or lacks or what she has given up. she is not defined by the place she was born or the skin she was born in. most importantly a female is not defined by someone else’s standards of beauty or success. she is not defined by what people have done for her nor is she defined by what scars she bears both literally and figuratively, or how she chooses to dress her wounds.
A female IS defined by the same standards as anyone else - by her self esteem, her courage and her capability to stand up for what is right and for herself. she is defined by her ability to grab life by the horns and smile into the storm. she is defined by her capacity to love, especially those who are not easy to love and the ability to love herself when no one else will. a female is defined by her honesty and her ability to forgive, by her outlook on life, her resilience and how often she laughs and she is defined by whether or not she chooses to leave the world a little bit better, a little less bitter and a little bit brighter, than when she came into it”
